My Garden

When first I rise, and look around
And curse the sun that enters now
And think the day is hopeless
No peace of mind is found

With thoughts beyond tomorrow,
Wishing time would fly
Skipping over troubles
Willing them goodbye

But now the sun is shining
And brighter are the skies
That take away the darkness
The fog lifts from my eyes

This day that I've been given
Oh, what a fool I've been
Today is the only garden
That I can ever tend

I love this Carrie, what true words. My favorite lines: "Today is the only garden that I can ever tend." Really makes someone stop and think, to appreciate each day that we are given, it really is a gift. Very beautiful words you have written in this piece. :) God bless and hope you have a wonderful new year. :) Love, Amy

Yes, and we must tend each day as a garden - love it, protect it, nurture it, and appreciate its beauty.. lovely thoughts...
