My Future Self Powtry Contest Sponsored by Unseeking Seeker Form: Trimeric Note: I became addicted to opioid, as many, many people have over these past years, after a car accident and injuries that required me to take them for a long period of time. Common enough story, I know. It's so sad. My doctor sent me to a recovery clinic which I've visited once a month for over 6 years now. I've been opiod/drug free with no relapses for 6 years now, Praise God! I'm working through the shame and regret feel about it in therapy as well. If you struggle with this addiction, I encourage you to seek help! There are so many resources now that can help you recover from this DISEASE called addiction. Don't be ashamed to get help. It is a serious disease that will be fatal if you don't get help and you deserve to live your best life my friend! Xoxo
To understand what is the present We must gaze into the story of our past Though it's ragged pages I lament I can peek through fingers spread, for I know it's gone at last We must gaze into the story of our past See this woman with many woes Who she's become since long ago Though it's ragged pages I lament Hindsight seems crystal clear If not for faith and family, I would not still be here I can peek through fingers spread for I know it's gone at last The battle waged long ago yet still today I must resist Recovery is ever with me, each new day is a gift.

Good for you sweetie. Just remember, the Devil will keep throwing obstacles and snares your way. Drugs are lies. God is real. Great take on the theme

Appreciate that Tom... so true;) so you! My dad is an alcoholic in recovery for 40 years now. I knew from my parents teaching is that we could not even experiment with drugs because addiction is hereditary as well. I was so careful... until the stupid accident and prescribed drugs! Like I said, it's a common story. Xo
