My Friend

Contest: Light A Pensee.
Sponsor: Nette Onclaud

Until needed or called upon, she sits.
Always, like a friend, she waits for you.

Emitting a most precious light;
Glowing and eliminating fright;
Erasing darkness on stormy nights.

The power grid is down, out, and off.
But carrying the weight of power
Is a simple candlelight.

Needing niether battery
Nor electricity. Strick a match,
And away she goes.

She gives a little heat,
But transmits lots of light.
She's movable and dependable.
