Rain falls outside my window so softly,
the grass, flowers and trees need it awfully,
and I sit drinking tea listening calmly.
Drip, drop and wind chimes whisper,
and wind chimes whisper.
In the distance the splash of cars on the road,
yet, there is a silence and the world has slowed,
I can taste a sweetness that will soon explode,
Drip, drop and wind chimes whisper.
Hidden in dripping branches - a bird twitter,
looking closely I see it quiver and a wing flutter,
then a chickadee appears to sing and chitter,
Drip, drop and wind chimes whisper.
There is a delicious smell in the hazy air,
I breath it in without a worldly care,
as raindrops are falling on my soaked hair,
Drip, drop and wind chimes whisper.
I touch the drooping garden flowers as I twirl,
spinning in a glorious dance- I whirl,
the why of nature flows into the soul of this girl.
Drip, drop and wind chimes whisper,
and wind chimes whisper.
