My First Memory

My First Memory
Taken by the my soft Four year old hand,
I remember the smile of a kind hearted man.
The crispy crunch of fallen leaves so loud,
Tall pines towering above me like a shroud.
My Father led me along an eternal alley of green,
With sights and sounds like I never could dream.
Our path was a secret keleidescope of nature,
With its sights, sounds and smells like a hidden treasure.
Fresh morning rain smelt like vanilla ice cream,
The Rainbow Lorickeet sang her song by the stream.
Golden brown, red and yellow Eucalyptus leaves,
Gently swam down to me on the hint of a breeze.
The wonderment I felt is still with me to this day,
And each morning to the mother of nature I pray.
