My First Love

I lost the fire in my eyes, the sparkle
   when I spoke your name.
I was spending time with the
   LORD,
I was reading about His fame.
My first love, my first love
   you'll always be.
My first love, my first love
   for all eternity.
Falling asleep at night with
   His words on my lips.
I held His words close careful
   not to let them slip.
My first love, my first love
   you'll always be
My first love, my first love
   for all eternity.
There never seem to be enough
   time
Something always got in the way.
My first love, my first love
   you'll always be,
My first love, my first love
   for all eternity
