My First Job

My First Job Shaped My Life Path 1959 By Miracle Man 8/6/2023 Strange how seemingly unimportant events, can impact our future, perhaps it’s only a favor. My prospects for a job wasn’t worth two cents, at eighteen, a new place, I needed a lifesaver. Rohr Aircraft had to have two years expertise, at eighteen I questioned which came first? First time from home and I bathed in unease, I was hoping for the best but fearing the worst. But then I met a man; a total stranger to me, a friend of a friend who was willing to assist. He wrote a name on a paper for me to go see, back to the place who had previously dismissed. My very first job and I’ve always wondered why, was it a favor my new friend was calling in? This very first job shaped life’s path I can’t deny, did unexpected help keep me from feeling chagrin? “The pleasure we derive from doing favors is partly in the feeling it gives us that we are not altogether worthless” Eric Hoffer
