My Fellow Companion, Solitude

Solitude, a cool breeze
far from the raging winds.
The mundane journey between the start and the end
An oneway path which leads nowhere.
A cry for the young while
a sigh for the old.
I feel lost like the child
on his first day at kindergarten.
Might it be the longing for a private space?
or the longing to stay
far from the maddening crowd?
or is it the mask wherein lies my conscience?
I feel lost like the falling leaf
on a fine autumn day.
I search within my conscience
the tide seems far to tread,
the interest seems to fade
hold on life seems vague.

As long as words come to a poet that they can share, there is beauty in life. I enjoyed your poem my friend. Congratulations on your win! Aloha, Connie : )
