Constanza
The Constanza created by Connie Marcum Wong consists of five or more 3-line stanzas. Each line eight syllables. All the first lines of all the stanzas form an independent poem as the rest of the poem expresses a deeper meaning. The first lines are in mono-rhyme while the second and third lines of each stanza rhyme together. Rhyme scheme: a/b/b a/c/c a/d/d a/e/e a/f/f.........etc.

These are my favorites thus far, but Gaia's known for Her beauty and Mother Nature's a cutie. Sparkles, trailing a shooting star as it falls, setting skies ablaze, a rare spectacle, nowadays. And the pluck of a bass guitar resonating deep in my heart, as tears spontaneously start. The rumble of an old streetcar carries memories of my youth, a time of innocence and truth. And catching fireflies in a jar is a magical kind of thing, like capturing love on the wing. These are my favorites thus far, sparkles trailing a shooting star and the pluck of a bass guitar, the rumble of an old streetcar and catching fireflies in a jar. (Constanza) July 30, 2020

The contrail of a shooting star must be a rare sight as I've never seen one, Emile. Sometimes music, and even sounds like the streetcar, can transport us to another time. It's too bad the fireflies don't live long in jars. I used to collect them too. A lovely constanza! Hugs, Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn, when I was a kid in a small village we use to spend hours looking up at a sky full of stars, but living in the city I haven't seen the night sky look like that for over fifty years and I long to see it again my friend, Emile.
