There are so many wonderful poets In which I get to know from year-to-year But there is one very special poet That in my heart I truly hold so dear I think I have read all of her poems It's a shame, she hasn't written all that much Her poems always made me smile, because She wrote so well, she had that special touch Also, this poetess taught me how to write And we had both wrote about each other But now she's passed and I'm proud to say My favorite poet...was my mother She's been gone now almost twenty-one years When I read her poetry, I'm all tears *Dedicated to my favorite poet, my mother- Sonia Messina
