My Favorite Food Has a Name In America
My favorite food has a name in America
Found in a recipe book
I never knew that my food had a title
Guess I should buy one and look
Don't get me wrong when I mention tostadas
Most people have one or two
But when you speak in the language of meatballs
Only a restaurant will do
Could it be true that the foods in America
Differ from those we hold dear
If you require a like-tasting taco
Visit the restaurants down here
If you are raised in a family home
And you want food with a name
Your loving mother will look at you funny
And cook your meal the same
We love the foods in the homes of our mothers
More than your burgers and fries
If you should ask us for Buffalo Chicken
You may deserve a surprise.
