MY FATHER

I dwell in a world
Where few men mean much
And he believes in the rod
But only for a just cause.

He always wears a smile
Yet under his watch we are free
Bound by one true law:
Do no harm to another.

To him each soul
Must walk its own path
He is firm as a tyrant
Gentle as a democrat.

So great a leader my father is
For he knows with much conviction
When the rod must guide
And when a word is enough.
