My Fantasy Future

My Fantasy Future

I wondered!
Holding the warm, steaming mug of coffee in my hand.
What surprises awaited me in
Poetry Soup Land.

I fantasized!
A future with impressive poetry writes.
But realized, that will never be,
It’s not me, and does not sit right.

I accepted!
My simplicity and that works best for me.
I took off that which shall never be, and took a walk to the shining sea!

I realized.
I was blessed each day of my
long life.
Most will never see my age, they think, being young are free from strife!

I experienced. 
More sorrows, pain, joys than
they will ever feel.
And thus keep my poetry forever, quite simple and real.

I lived.
Through the histories they pen
so eloquently about.
I choose….. the present to pen and shout about.

I try to be more complex, witty or wise! It does not Work. Writing of things that effect out freedom does. Writing brutal truth does. Somebody better start writing about the killing of Israelis…The dangers of AI. The Chinese own far too much of USA .agricultural land ..I do recall the Shoah…I guess folks don’t realize they can be next.Why not? All the name calling and beatings of Conservatives as evil? I don’t know why PS does not have ZOOM meetings,and if shy, one need not be on camera. But at least voices could be heard.. a few could read their poems. I am sure as Gershon said,,an avatar vs reality might be a shock for many of us. ZoOM is a way to go. Why don’t poets Facebook one another…Travel is expensive. And I would be attacked or stabbed by some poets here. They loathe me.)) I value my life too much. I know you understand that. I saw 6 pages once of hare comments about me. Wow~ Paula.
