My Eyes Miss You

Though I feel your warmth near me
Caressing my forehead
I can't touch you

Though I heed your words
While making big decisions
I can't hear you

Though my heart sees you
Speaks to you, when I am sad
My eyes can't

Though I call you 'appa' aloud
When I am in danger, you heal me fast
But I can't hear your response

Though I know you are here
Watching and blessing us
My eyes miss you

Last year,
on the same full moon day,
You barely left us
But I know from then until now
you are taking care and forever more
 you will bless us
from heaven above

You brought tears in my eyes. I feel like that for all elders who have died in family. I agree with you. You said Appa. Are you south Indian like me. My mother tongue is Tamil
