My Everything

My Everything You were my everything my friend and lover in summer, winter, spring. What’s been done cannot be recovered as time passes and eases in we slip away, one from the other. You go your way and I go mine once found love is often lost in time. The mind forgets, blocked by living and gains late in its wisdom seeing and facing our misgivings. There are no redos only reruns of all that happened or occurred and in looking back we see the scores. Ten for you, a five for me nothing set us totally free. You were my everything and I let you go too late to take back that “no”. Sliding with the times, no stopping any more change is quickly coming I can here drummers drumming. Spring turns to winter youth fading in the climb as memory clouds with time. A final, one last blessing song for the lonely lost heart with nothing left to impart.
