Notes About The Poem

A dynamometer is an apparatuis that measures energy. 

My Dynmometer Reading

My dynamometer is at a two today.
Nothing is wrong with its dynamometry.
Because my perk and vitals are on one,
and my happy energy is on three.
This reading makes perfect sense to me
and my husband who has been sick for a week.
the dynamometer has nailed us slick and sleek.

I went to a doctor once who'd been practicing so long that the bulb on his blood pressure cuff, was dry-rotted; there were cracks all over it and I remember wondering if that thing was taking my blood pressure at all or if he was making it up.
