My Dream

I live in the city but I have this great dream
of living on a mountain by a beautiful stream

That flows down to a lake as blue as can be
and a mountain behind it like a picture I see

And a little log cabin that is made out of pine
and a big deck behind it that I can call mine

All I need is a rifle and a good rod and reel
I can fish and hunt when I want a good meal

And sit by a camp fire at night and be still
and listen to the coyote crickets and owls

A dream that may never come true for me
but I'll go on dreaming and some day it may be
