My Dream
Inspired by the song "You Are My Sunshine'
It came to me one night-
A dream I had you see.
You sat down by my side.
My heart did fill with glee.
I held you in my arms-
You where so very fair;
We shared our deepest thoughts-
The light you gave was rare.
When dawn arose I saw,
It only was a dream.
"I hung my head and cried;"
The tears flowed like a stream.
Each night now as I sleep
I dream of us alone.
It's there I know true love-
It's there your light is shone
