My Dog Doppelganger

If I had to say for sayings sake Just because a friend wanted to know If I was a dog, what kind would I make? I don't like the heat so give me some snow A Saint Bernard rescuing the stranded seems my kind of a rural life No big city kitties could I be branded No yorky cuddled with a house wife Depth, strong, solid, loyal and helpful That's what I have in me to be Though along the way I'll make a snow angel Then learn to snowboard and ski!

Excellent. I love all dogs, cats anything that walks, crawls or flys except for spiders, etc. I can even get used to lizards and snakes if I have to though they are not my faves. Dogs, cats and horses are my faves. Have never been without several dogs and at least one cat in my house. It just isn't home without them. God Bless, JB

This is great stuff. Loved it. Great imagery and I could see the big dog bounding through the snow. It would be great for a children's book. Can't you see this big dog on a snow board. Great Stuff. This one made me smile. God Bless,\JB

Doris, you asked about my lover... lol.. you remember a poet by the name of Nathan Dilts... yes, we are still together and we both had a lovely 20 day vacation together. This is the 4th time we take vacations together. I am so in la la land with him. And by the way this is an awesome poem.. Can he really do all them things,.. take care,..p.d.

This is a really great poem. I find that dogs are more loyal to you then friends are. I still miss my dog, had him 14 great years and he was suddenly taken from me. Well done with this lovely poem!

There you go Doris. Even though it was just one more verse, you brought it to a close. Now the poem is complete. Well done. Rockman :-)

A noble dog, the St. Bernard. When I was a kid I wanted one to wrestle with. With a name like Doppleganger, the dog must come from Berlin. Good reading! Love, daver

This is short, but I love it. It's so clever, Doris. To think of doing it this way. Wish I'd thought of it. But I went and did a horribly long one that I'm almost too afraid to post yet. If I were an animal.... definitely a cat!!(a cute little persian that nobody would want to harm. haha)

This poem was ok for me Doris. Cute in it's own way. But it left me wanting more. I think you should have expanded on it. Show us what makes the life of a Saint Bernard so desirable. Create a scenario of a day in the life. Even so, I enjoyed the two stanzas the you gave us. Thanks for writing. Rockman
