My Dog

So sad was my dog
Yesterday and last night
In fear of his demise
I prayed within the light
I gave him medicine
And worried awake
Until dawn
But wouldn’t you know
His strength regained
Amidst my weakest yawn
Saw him chasing rabbits
His strength returned so fast
I think he played head games
Pity was his power
I fell deep line and sinker
Believing he was done
But the stinker betrayed
My trust and I was gone

Dear Kelli, What a smart dog to get extra love from you. I love reading your poems, and your dog was an added touch. - Blessings, MY Dear Friend, Daniel
