My Distant Childhood

«Why do you cry about your ball,

as if you were still small?

This ball is not gold; this ball is not fine.

This ball is really just old!»

«But it is mine! I love this little ball

most of all, because it is a part

of my distant childhood!

This ball is not gold. I agree it is not fine.

It is in general really too old.

But it helps me find my distant childhood.»

«Keep your ball, my dear!

Such memories are golden.»
