My Dear Alien Friend

For my dear alien friend: Old memories are often like wonderful songs we wish to play over and over but sometimes we lose the cd. But all the same I play them like wild where no one else can hear them. But maybe your able to pick up on the static? For a while I felt alone in this dull city ... Like the early mornings where the sun sits lonely in the sky. I often watched the world around me with no one daring to look up. Then you walked by with a simple hello. I am thankful for this.... Together we often listen to music and keep memories forever young. Even though we are light years away our headphones keep us closely connected. Who would of thought it..? An alien and day dreaming drifter becoming the best of friends.. Its quite a miracle we even bumped into each other. But I am thankful someone wishes to call me out by name. One day maybe I'll visit your far away land and together we'll sit under the same star-lit sky together. I would like that.... I would like that a lot. -Robert Burton
