My Daughter
Oh, how you have grown.
You were so tiny when we brought you home,
the perfect little piece of heaven.
I watched you playing on the floor,
working diligently to get to the toy
a mere few inches away.
Now you move as graceful as a swan,
long beautiful legs carry you freely.
As you move swiftly into womanhood,
I long for your early days with
eyes full of wonder and yearning.
I want to teach you all I have learned
and to shield you with myself.
Yet, I know eventually
I will have to let you go.
Until then, I want to let you know
I love you and I will always be your
Momma.
