My Dark Side

looking around,
all that is seen are the ruins of the life before this moment.
searching for guidance.
received are the
torn pictures,
bruised walls,
fractured ceilings
of a broken childhood.
the dark side;
my dark side.
facing the truth with love or with guilt.
the guidance was never received.
captured by what was thought of as guilted love
you brought me to the light side.

Wonderful depth in this piece Alex. Your word choices paint a vivid, stark picture that is disturbing and brutally honest. I love the emotions of "guilted love". That you ended with positivity seamlessly tying it all together is remarkable writing. An amazing piece Alex. I am thinking of you this Christmas Eve:)
