My Daddy

Just like always He love sitting in the room alone for long Looking at the reflection of his face in the mirror Asking himself through his eyes with silent words what else he could do to save us?, where is he lacking to keep him altogether? How to keep working for better? And he wasn’t finished with all the self doubts yet, the image of his had started to get blurry, A stage where he couldn’t see himself at all With the pain in his eyes that he is trying to hold on with no blinking cause seeing helplessness dripping on his face made him feel even weaker A Stage where all the self doubts in his head Made it more difficult to walk straight But with all this weight he does walk with bended back A stage where he does want to quit but the weight of responsibilities, promises made him stay And this untangled hope drives him back to the bed where he sank into it to emerge tomorrow again Just like always And Every question remained unanswered tonight too Just like always

A very sympathetic view of your father's struggles with responsibility, self-doubt, and 'untangled hope'. Very touching and beautifully written, Urvashi. Kind regards ~ John
