Notes About The Poem
It is where and how I write 99% of my poetry, along with a red and black candle, and my Muse, of course. It works for me.
If you buy one, do not get a quartz crystal ball, they are phony. Get a glass ball, I just saw one on Ebay an 88 mm glass crystal ball for $59.00. Mine came to me as a gift from my brother, who purchased it at San Francisco an oriental gift store. It is 88mm and there are a very few beautiful bubbles looping through the center. All glass balls will have a few bubbles, that is part of their beauty.
If the ad says no flaws and no bubbles, it is a quartz ball and useless.
My Crystal Ball
My Crystal Ball
There in I go to deeper depths of me
to levels where no one can ever know
and in the dark where only death can be
a little light fortells where life will go;
it's just a sphere of glass, a crystal ball,
to show the way into eternity
a dome of light, a refuge from it all,
that shakes my soul and lets my mind run free;
and as I gaze into the depth of it
all time's been frozen to the light I see,
and, mesmerized, I drift through space a bit
and free of all below, that I call me.
The beauty I have found within this ball
brings life as certain as it brings my fall.
