My Crying Eyes

My Irish eyes They cry for you All through the night And day for you For times we had And those never been For what I’ve seen And what could not be Oh love My heart It breaks apart I can not bare This acid dart The blackness swirls above my head It comes for me with acrid dread I ache with shivers not of love But hurt and longing for my one My soul it pains my entire self You laid me bare upon this shelf I only wanted to be true I hoped one day to be with you Though now the words have left your tongue You screamed at me “you’re not the one” How can I survive in this vile place When half my heart must be replaced The blackness comes yet once again To take me where I’ve never been Do I go, give up the fight Does it matter, do I have the might How did you think you had the right To say such things that forge a knife That penetrates my very core Until I can feel my blood no more I’m numb but yet I have a pulse Suddenly I sense a tiny jolt I feel you lightly touch my lips And then embrace me with a kiss My eyes fly open very wide You stare at me in loving desire Realization sets in as I look at you I can’t believe it wasn’t true Was just a dream and now it’s through I find my voice and manage this Babe I can never live without you You put your finger to my lips Shh my love, do not worry so I love you now, tomorrow and always You kiss the freckles on my nose And rub your foot across my toes I close my eyes and try to breathe I’m thankful for your love for me Written- 12/03/2020- 9:09 PM
