My Conscious Mind

You and I and all our friends have to be vigilant as we observe the political landscape like it’s a home town waiting for next tornado advisory. Will the damaging winds destroy our healthcare or lower our income or raise the price of food at the supermarket? Yesterday I thought that the entire world’s chicken population went on strike and refused to lay any eggs and the wild jungle monkeys were considering political careers in the land of the free and home of the brave. Your words are absurd said my conscious mind to my sub-conscious mind. Chickens can’t make decisions about laying their eggs and monkeys can’t represent a political party and Pigeons can’t join the Coast Guard so they can stop terrorists from sneaking on shore. You and all your friends have to learn how to observe people’s actual behavior like you’re studying for a test. That’s when my conscious mind decided to be in command of what to think about the very next time that I vote.
