My Computer's My Friend

My computer's my friend
  more so than my pen
With lightning-fast fingers
  thoughts needn't linger

I can change my mind
with the tap of a key
No need to erase or cross-out
  and that's fine with me

Some long for the days
  of paper and pen
Bobbies on bicycles
  the chimes of Big Ben

So let them long ~
  I'll type my song
to silky-smooth speed
  not written but keyed

I get into the type up everything mode and it does seem fast, but I adore all of the stars, hearts, flowers, and cross outs I can make on a page. I like to decorate and doodle while I toss words around. So pen and paper trump the computer some days. No offense to the word FART.

Ha ha, well said! My thumbs are too fat and slow to type well on a phone, so the computer it is, with a nice spread out keyboard and all the editing options. Just don't forget to hit 'Save'! ~ Mr. Qwerty

It's the computer for me too. Believe it or not, I don't even have a smart phone. Just a flip phone in case someone really needs to call me. ~ Throwback Thigginbottom

I'll never be without my computer-it makes so many things easier. I can't remember when I last used an encyclopedia. All the best, Evelyn :)

Things I need to get rid of: Old phone books and dictionaries. All hail electronics, I guess. Smiles, Gershon
