My Children Are Hungry

He is a hermit; no one will miss him.
My freezer is empty; the stores have shut down.
This is madness!

I must be insane.
I am a good person.
This is nonsensical.

He is a hermit; no one will know.
I am not starving yet, but things are getting worse.
This is evil!

I am ashamed of my thoughts.
He deserves to live.
What is wrong with me?

He is a hermit; no one would suspect.
I could take him out easy.
He is fleshy; he would fill up my freezer.

I am horrified thinking of him as meat.
Where are these ideas coming from?
Am I possessed by the devil?

He is a hermit. My children are hungry.
It is with deep regret I pick up the rat poison
Downward spiral to my trip to hell.

But my children are hungry.
