My Children

I have two children
who I love and adore.
It’s unfortunate
I did not have any more.

The oldest is my daughter
The youngest is my son.
However I’m grateful to God
He did not give me just one.

As we all know there are times
Children can be such a pain
Sometimes, or should I say many times
They can drive us a little insane.

When they were young
They were involved in band and sports
Now they are older
And doing all the grown up sorts.

I am so very proud
to be their mother,
That God found it fitting
He gave them to no other.

The Almighty blest me
 so very much.
Giving me these two children,
it wasn’t by sheer luck.

So I dedicate this poem
To Nikki and Billy Starks.
I love you both,
with every beat of my heart.
