My Chance For Romance

Seeing you that first time,
I heard a loud bell chime
My heart was beating quicker,
Because you were so near
I wanted to speak to you,
But my mind was all askew
I saw you looking at me,
And thought to myself, maybe?
Then I turned and you were gone,
My chance for romance never begun

What a bummer. That's ok, just wasn't meant to be. Always a reason in my opinion. Someone better will come along. Love, Shar

Great poem, Janice! Reminds me of words my Mom used to say: "He who hesitates is lost." Next time, I'll bet you will act more quickly.

Sad write... but so well done. I was captured by your words and felt my heart ache as I read the last two lines. Your words really take the reader there. Smiles from Lolita
