My Catnee
My Catnee
Great
Catnee
My sweet pet
accompanied me
Christmas gifts to get.
I put the Christmas tree
at corner of garden gate.
close to my cat’s territory
to get spectacular view at best.
Beneath the tree all the gifts I spread.
Following traditional norm.
Golden stars are put on shed
Strings of light are hung from
fence of flower bed.
No chance of storm
predicted.
And Mom
Said.
On branch I hang jingle bells to ring.
Catnee was watching all along.
On her neck I tied a string
with bell to ring ding-dong
She cheered on running.
With Christmas song
went evening,
so long
fine.
Next morning Catastrophe shattered all.
Cute Catnee made big massacre.
stars are torn, strings of light fall
She chewed gift wrapper
kicking bells as ball.
messy all over.
As I call,
toddler
crawls.
