My Burden

In solitude I've searched to find
a respite for my troubled mind

A repose where there might be lain
this lode I"ve carried all in vain

This cache which o'er the years has grown
from far too many seeds I've sown

Those seeds which all too often yield
a bitter fruit to spoil the field

This crop which has so cost me dear
o'er many a season thru many a year

That I might, this burden bare
just one more step then lay it there

Tis then that I shall be set free
a clear blue sky my eyes to see

And in that moment shall I find
a place to rest my weary mind
