My Broom

Intent on sweeping
I grabbed my broom
Then crossed the hall
And entered the room
My husband did ask
As he stepped aside
“Where are you going?
I’ll give you a ride!”

Just earlier that day
I couldn’t find my shoes
I was already late
With no time to lose
"Have you seen my shoes?"
I asked my spouse
Who quickly replied
“Are they under the house?”
