My Book of Poems

A book of poems
with my name on it
is my ambition, someday.
A book of poems
with my name on it,
with something, inside, to say.
Not a big book, not thick, not mushy --
not that kind of book for me.
My book must be lean, must be spare --
though pithy and strong --
and stand free.
A small book of poems
with my name on it:
all that I need
to leave here of me.

I am going through the extensive editing process but there is light at the end of the tunnel. p.s. enjoyed the poem, we all would like to leave a piece of ourselves in our distilled self.
