My Bmi

Like a king I sit upon my throne
over time with affluence I've grown
friends, and family are now not known
through life style I now live all alone,
once fit, healthy body sleek with tone
of a brave gladiator of Rome
this situation I can't condone
self belief, selflessness must be shown
my life being cut short, can't postpone
pity will not solve my plight I groan
all failures must now be overthrown
especially at thirty one stone.

what a fabulous take on the one stone theme Roy, I initially considered a poem about weight but the poem I wrote instead got a weight off my mind!:-) hugs Jan xx

Thank you so much Jan, I understand writing about our traumas in a poetic way helps us though I can't understand how anyone can be so hurtful as described in your heartbreaking entry in this contest, we must keep on writing.
