My Blue Valentine
The days are long
And the nights are longer
When the lights go out
My heart beats harder
In the silence of the night
I lay awake staring
Knowing what I did wrong
Will my heart be able to keep on loving?
Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean much
When I am scared and alone
Weeping myself to sleep
In the dark loneliness of my home
My days drag together
Feeling less of myself
Sadness and sorrow sink in
Staring at the picture of us there on the shelf
Flowers won’t cut it
Not this time around
Will holding you in my arms
Turn your frown upside down?
My heart is with the ocean
Its blue and it has drowned
You will always be my Queen
So, please take your crown
The comfort you have given me
Through this life I don’t deserve
Words cannot describe it.
My heart for you, is on reserve
My Valentine this year I cannot have
Will my Valentine next year come true?
This year I am alone
My Valentine is blue.
