My Best Friend

I don't know how to say I'm sorry
I didn't mean to do what I did
It was an accident
Not intentional
But you don't understand
You never will
Because you don't care
If you cared
You'd know
That I wouldn't do that on purpose
It hurts me
Just as much as it hurts you
To know
That you don't know me well enough
To know
That I wouldn't do anything to hurt you
You're my best friend
The person I care about the most
But you don't see it that way
All you see is him
No one else
But him
No one matters
But him
I would never treat you like that
You would be the first person
I would call
The first person I would tell
My secrets to
You matter to me
More than anyone
But you don't see it that way
I guess you never will
I hope someday you do
Maybe you'll realize
That I matter too.
