My Bank of Minutes

Just a minute! Just a minute!
I hear that all the time.
So I'm saving up those minutes,
And someday they'll be mine!

I have a safe place for my minutes,
my mom and dad's combined.
I lock them in a bank I found,
deep inside my mind.

When mother's shopping in the store,
I wait and wait and wait some more.
And the minutes add up quickly,
behind my bank of minutes door.

And when daddy dozes in his chair,
tick tock! tick tock! my clock is there.
He promises after a little snooze,
we'll go see the pandas at the zoo.

My minutes add up quickly.
I count them every one.
They often come in handy,
when my mom and dad have none.

Because when I hear them say,
"Sorry! we just don't have the time."
I unlock my bank of minutes,
and give them all of mine!
