My Backyard In Spring

MY BACKYARD IN SPRING My backyard in spring How the ground cover gradually fills in How the pointillist buds some popping slowly line bare branches Just this simple awakening suddenly freshens my entire frame The white-painted houses now color highlighted thrust a stark memory of emptiness quickly deleted though by a song then flap of friendly wings And the sky in early spring – how so much more bright and blue Oh I need to walk out on this This dewy wonderfulness Need to plant bare feet Feel the thankful soil between my toes Need to lift my chin on high Eager to be blinded by a liberated sun

Great write here Daver,, but you've got me dealing with the sun as well..as i'm drowning in allthe dewy wonderfulness my high chin seems to be blocking the worst of that sunlight however....when...WHAM.." i've connected with a large white house that anyone should've seen.." i'don't know about this graphic discriptive stuff you're doing these days,, i think if you carry on like this you should place a danger sign on the lawn..! yours Joe..)

Ah, this is an exhilarating and most inspiring piece, Daver. It fills the senses of the reader, so that we too can share your wonderment and the warm pleasures of this "liberated sun". Love the imagery with the teeming energy it invokes! Thanks for sharing this morning 'pick me up'.:) Best wishes, love, Mikki

Nature always soothes, and how nice to have it right in your own backyard! I love this write, especially the last 6 lines, ending with "....a liberated sun! Lovely, and colorful write, Dave! And thanks for the comments on my latest, and yes, I do bear a famous name, though I am not related to the famous painter, Eugene Delacroix. He never married. But his work was quite brilliant, and a bit controversial in his time. Have a nice day! Caroline.
