My Backbone
He’s my backbone
I hope for His love to hold me close
He hears me when I cry aloud to Him
I won't reject Him and my faith - He casts away my woes
And gives me miracles that get me on my toes
This feeling of comfort grows...
Inside of my heart and it's quenched with His Holy Spirit
Something that I shouldn't take for granite
How great is thy Word
Flying like a joyous songbird
Though I can be quite odd
He sees that I'm strong and observant, but Oh God!
How did you know I loved you so?
Am I worthy of Your light?
Why have I put my trust in you? Is it because you know
The truth behind life? The truth that sets us free
From the horrifying night...
From the sinister night!!
Please set me free and heed to my plea
Hear me out in the middle of the night
I can't handle the anxiety, beating me constantly
I look up to Him when a difficult circumstance
Strikes me down with lightning…I’ll find
The happy-go-lucky children in the park
And I’ll sit there, reminiscences of my childhood spent here
Haunts me subconsciously and I have no fear
God draws near to me…so I won’t shed a tear
Shed a tear… I do deserve to wear a hat of joy
Instead of being tossed to and fro like a useless toy
We’re as beautiful and stable as Noah’s ark
Watch where you’re going in the waters – you might spot a shark
Serene shores washes away our past grief,
Rinsing us with riveting relief
Let’s swing our arms about like the swings, swinging back and forth with the whistling, wafting wind
Loneliness doesn’t exist in this land of love and liberation
Ravishing feelings sprout ALL OVER MY BODY
I no longer feel like a foolish stranger – plump with vanity
Please, dear, don’t pity me…
Stretch your hands to the unveiling universe
Let’s go around and round and round
Like an ancient merry-go-round
You’re my inconceivable lullaby
Putting me to sleep in every verse
You’re a gift, not a curse
You’re a gift, not a curse
You’re a gift, nothing worse
Wherever I roam,
You’re a miracle, not a bad report
You're a miracle, not a ugly wart
You got me out of court!
You’re a miracle, and I rely on Your support
He'll remain my backbone
You remind me that I'm not alone
I've grown satisfied with you, protecting me like a Father
You're like no other...no other
Let's gather with each other and gain insight
Let's engage in pulling weeds to unveil delight
Unveil the glorious light
That you absorb inside and out
I'm dying to see it one day...no doubt
Show me the way to go, Oh Lord
So, I can be your sheep on board
Forevermore…
