My Back Forty
I've got so much junk in my back forty
Old junk from old days and old ways
Screwups, tantrums
Indifference, jealousies
Grudges, assumptions
Anger and hate
I've been trying to clean up back there
For many years but it is dark, overgrown, and confusing
I have come to realize that my old junk is here to stay
So I am going to create a new garden out front
A place to forget the junk out back, a new world for me
Ill lay out plenty of love with a path to forgiveness
Colorful flowers of charity
The shining light of loyalty
Service to all who visit
A calming escape without guilt or regrets
It's my old junk, it is part of me
But I wont use it any more
I pray for all who visit that after they leave my garden
They will be better than when they came
