My Awakened Heart
The light breeze brushes my hair
Instilling in me, some peace, even if
Somehow, that soothing calm shall give way
To hurricanes and typhoons, as it usually does,
For life is made to be such!
But the light breeze, while it brushes my hair,
Ruffles through the many folds of my being
And jolts my heart to a waking state!
Enough, shouts it, you have dozed for a decade
Let my sight guide you towards your awakening
Let my essence immerse you in its gleam
Let my beauty reciprocally appreciate your lustre!
Pray, shaken up, I frown at my surroundings
While trying to catch the breeze in my hands
So as to stop it from waking up my heart
But, it was too late,
It was impossible a task
As,
I could feel it happening,
Even if the moon is nowhere to be seen
Even if thick clouds hide the stars
And sleepy seem to be the firmament
Sleepy and uncaring about my whole transformation!
Aroused, my heart stops beating for a while
Before it starts reciting to me, words of romantic poetry
Words, so elevating and rhythmic that I turn them into songs
Songs, so powerful that they got caught on by angels
To be played in the realms of the other worlds!
After a while, my heart, still so excited,
Starts beating so fast that I feel breathless,
Why, it shouts, why did you push me to sleep
Can't you see how much time I have lost?
This world is meant to be enjoyed while my stay
Upon its soils does last
Now, I do have loads to catch up to!
Then, the beats stabilize to a stable pace
As, my heart becomes conscious of the many ills
Inhabiting the world
Saddened, it chooses to strengthen itself with helping hands
And bids me, to share there where I could
The compassion that it is made of!
Why, my heart has been awakened,
Life cannot be escaped
By pretending that it does not be
Or by losing ourselves in dream bubbles
Life is to be lived
Accompanied by an awakened heart
Such a one, which remains our driving force!
