My Asparagus
I would walk barefoot
Across oceans of broken glass
Through tangles of thorns
Across rooms filled with Legos.
I would stride proudly
Until my blood soaked the earth,
Even if the world turned on me
Or the dark tried to devour me
Not because I am a hero
Nor am I a masochist
It would be worth all the pain
If you were waiting with a smile
on the other side.
Then it would be worth everything.
