My Art Delights Me

My art work delights me. I am amazed that I am this creative. Other people’s stuff is merely okay now.
I do not think it is conceit. I think it is excitement and appreciation for what I instinctively do.
This stuff pounds out of me onto the canvas for only one reason, because it has to.
And it is pure fun.
I love throwing the greens and yellows and pinks onto a canvas.
I usually put a color in three spots then decide whether to take it further.
All extra paint goes on my door.
Which is heavier all the time.
Sometimes when I get toward the end of a painting I throw in sawdust or glitter.
I tried gluing on jewels once, it looked dumb.
I have been known to take a painting off a wall and re-do it.
I am famous for it.
As I learn I redo, and as I redo, I learn.
Painting.
How I am in love with it!

I painted for years; everything I could. Now I spend my time with watercolor pencils and pen and ink but, I keep thinking I'll get back to painting someday. It is excitement; no conceit however, I find that people who think they can't do it themselves, just plain don't want to hear our excitement. Oh well, that's where one of those, silent screams of joy, comes in handy. Great poem; had to favorite this one.

I love doing anything creative, but painting, oh, my, to add those colors, and watch it unfold. MAGIC!
