On Nov. 26,2020 I was very sick and called in sick at work. Then the next day I told my husband to take me to the Urgent Care Center because I was really in pain. When we got there they took me right in and put me in a bed. I remember crying "HELP! HELP!" and then everything went black. I woke up being put into an ambulance. The doctor came to me and said, "Your appendix has ruptured and we have to get you to the hospital NOW!"
I think they gave me something because I passed out again and when I woke the operation was over and I was in a hospital bed. I was there for two weeks and then on total bed rest at home for 6 weeks. Not fun. But I'm much better now.
What I thought bad constipation,
Was revealed to be more serious.
High fever, nausea, pain intense,
And I became delirious.
The paramedics knocked me out,
To relieve discomfort.
Awoke without appendix,
In less but much discomfort.
Found two infections instead of one,
C.T.'s, blood work, antibiotics;
Plus pain and nausea medicine,
I lay staring quite myopic.
My appendix ruptured.
Not a pretty sight.
The pain was unbelievable,
Though I thought t'was something light.
Why wait so long to call for help?
Oh what was my intention?
I wasn't really sick at all.
I simply wanted attention.
