My Answer That You Seek
Your words touch my heart and are
Embedded in my soul.
Could it be the young man I fell
In love with so long ago?
The young man who promised to me
His love his heart and his soul,
And as we walked under the moonlit sky
His words of our life together began to unfold.
And then one day that young man and his dreams were gone,
He left me with only those memories to fall back on.
After all these years he’s now back again,
And those memories of long ago greet me like a long lost friend.
The young boy from those years ago
Has now become a man,
Standing here before he asks if we can begin our dreams and life again.
I look into deep green eyes and see
The memories of long ago come back to me.
I know the young man I fell in love with long ago,
Needed time to grow
To grow into the man who stands before me
Knows my answer is forever with him is where I want to be
