My Angel

The pain in her eyes, her need for acceptance,
I watched for years her act out for attention,
Coming home, shutting the door,
No one knew all the pain she stored,
Her eyes were so beautiful, so very different,
She put her heart into everything she had given,
Some seemed to take her the wrong way,
The strength of her heart was amazing to me,
When I grow up I want to be just like you,
Deep down inside no one knew,
The Angel that I saw everyday,
That always gave her heart away,
Some would say she went to extremes,
But I knew the reasoning privately,
The heartbreaks she endured,
With a smile on her face, remember God knows more,
He sees our hearts underneath the surface,
Don't be scared to stand for love's purpose,
This beautiful woman that stood by my side,
Who wiped the tears from my eyes, and inspired my life,
