My Alarm Clock

I lay down for the night,
staring at the night sky
holding my blanket tight!
Slowly, all the hubbub of the city
starts fading away, and
I settle in for a good night's sleep!

Then comes that boisterous noise which
ruins my sleep, and makes me stand on my feet!

If it weren't for those hands ticking away
I would have enjoyed the rest of my sleep!

Then comes the time I have to go to school, and
as usual I almost missed my bus!
The school bell starts ringing, and
the teacher tries to make herself heard
over the pandemonium residing in our class.

The last bell of the day rings, and
everyone scrambles out of school!

But were it not for the clangorous
of my alarm clock,
I might not have a spent a day
how I have done, today!!!!
